Listed below are the building blocks of becoming a PSC Chaplain.

Chaplain's Basic Academy

Provides you with the foundational skills for First Responder Chaplaincy during this comprehensive four day training. Among other topics, understanding First Responder culture, ministry of presence, crisis response, suicide intervention, and death notifications are explained and practiced in class, allowing the Chaplain to be prepared for ministry and service.

Church Recommendation

Because First Responder Christian Chaplaincy is a special calling that must be discerned within a christian community, Public Safety Chaplaincy requires the recommendation from pastoral and/or elders of your church or worshipping community.

Agency Endorsement

In addition to basic training and church pastoral/elder recommendation, Public Safety Chaplaincy requires the endorsement of a local First Responder Agency with your application.  For more information/questions, contact us at
